mySilva

Forest management platform for private owners

Your forest, your capital.

"The forest grows every day. Do you know by how much it gains in value?"

Your forest is a valuable asset — but do you know how it changes over time? mySilva translates national forest register updates into clarity: value trends, plots, suggestions.

Sound familiar?

Your forest is working right now — but do you know how productively?

Paper tax assessment tells you what was in the forest ten years ago — not what is happening today. How much it grew this year. Which stand performs best. What to do in spring. Most owners live in this information fog.

You don't know what you're looking at

The forest is a "green wall". What is it worth? How much has it grown? What should you do now? There are no clear answers.

You worry about being short-changed

When a timber buyer shows up, you have nothing to compare to. Is the offer fair? It's unclear.

Alone with the information

Neighbours' experience stays with the neighbour. Nowhere to ask "am I doing this right?" without a big fee.

Private dashboard

See your forest as an asset that grows over time.

Like Revolut shows changes to your bank balance, mySilva shows your forest value and growing-stock gains. VMD refreshes data every quarter — you see your forest grow even when you do nothing.

  • Forest value over time — quarterly precision, history since registration
  • Growing stock by species — spruce, pine, birch, aspen
  • Stand map with status — ready to cut, still growing
  • "Your forest gained €2,380 this quarter" — curiosity that keeps you coming back

Interactive forest map

Every stand — with its own story and status.

Enter your cadastre number — within 30 seconds you see your property at stand level. Colour coding shows what is ready to cut, what is approaching readiness, what is still growing. Click any stand — see volume, species, age, value.

  • VMD data straight from the national forest register
  • Colour coding by harvest readiness
  • Seasonal work suggestions for each stand
  • Forest history ready for the next generation

AI copilot — your digital forest manager

Ask about your forest. In plain language. 24/7.

In Sweden, Skogssällskapet gives each owner a personal forest manager (skogsförvaltare) who knows the property for years. We do the same — digitally. The AI copilot knows your specific forest, remembers past questions, and offers seasonal tips. For complex cases we bring in a human expert from our team.

  • Knows your specific property — not generic answers
  • Remembers earlier questions and recommendations
  • Proactive alerts — bark beetle, diameter limits, rotation age
  • Hybrid model — AI for every day, humans for hard decisions
Is my stand 7 ready to cut yet?
Stand 7 has 95-year-old spruce — rotation threshold is 101 years. In three years you hit the optimum. Spruce at €95/m³ is 15% above last year's average — you can wait; price is stable.
What work is priority right now?
Recommended: tending young stand in stand 3 — season ends 15 April. If you want, I can line up quotes from verified contractors in Staicele parish.
STAICELE PARISH COMPARISON
You are 15% above the parish average. Main reason — timely young-stand tending.

Anonymised parish comparison

Where you stand among neighbours — without them knowing it's you.

Latvian forest owners are cautious. They want to know if their forest is better or worse than the neighbour's — but they don't want the neighbour to see their "gold" growing there. So mySilva is private by default. Benchmarking is anonymised — you see the distribution, nobody sees which dot is you.

  • "Your forest is 15% above Staicele parish average"
  • Anonymised comparison — nobody sees your raw numbers
  • Public profile — only if you opt in
  • Neighbour joint harvesting — opt-in, never automatic

How we think about forests

"We don't have an industry that needs your timber. So when we say we manage your forest to your goals — not to feed an industry's supply chain — we mean it."

— Skogssällskapet, Sweden · foundation since 1912 managing 400,000 ha of private forest

mySilva draws on Scandinavian long-term thinking — a forest is not one deal, it is property that grows through your life and the next generation's. We are not a buyer marketplace, not an auction house, not a logging company. We are a neutral platform where your goals decide what happens to the forest. For decades, not days.

Frequently asked questions

Learn first, then sign up.

Where does the forest data come from?
Directly from Valsts meža dienests (VMD) — the same data you see in your VMD account. Enter your cadastre number and the platform pulls stand data, volume, species mix, and age. Updates follow the VMD quarterly refresh cycle.
Is my data private?
Yes. The platform is private by default — other owners cannot see your forest value, work, or photos. Comparisons with other owners in your parish are anonymised — you see parish averages; nobody sees your exact plots. A public profile exists only if you choose it.
Is mySilva an auction site for timber sales?
No. mySilva is a forest management platform — a private dashboard and AI copilot for the long term. A harvest sales assistant is one feature you can use when you are ready to sell — with verified buyers in a closed process. It is a tool, not our core business.
Why doesn't mySilva belong to a logging company?
Because a manager who also buys timber has a structural conflict of interest. The Scandinavian model we follow (Skogssällskapet) fixed this over a century ago — neutrality is the basis of the service, not a competitive edge.
How fast can I see my forest after signing up?
About 30 seconds. Enter the 11-digit cadastre number — the system pulls VMD data, shows stands on the map, and estimates value. The account is free and initial views are not restricted.
What happens to my data if mySilva shuts down?
You can download your full forest history — work, photos, data — anytime as PDF and CSV. We are building a long-term platform you can trust for decades; data portability is part of that trust.
How do you make money?
Main revenue is user subscriptions (€9 or €29 per month). A smaller share is commission if you sell timber or order services on the platform. We do not sell user data, show ads, or charge providers for placement priority.
How do cookies and analytics work on mySilva?
We use essential cookies so sign-in and security work. Google Analytics loads only if you accept it in the cookie notice. See the Cookie policy and the retention overview in the Privacy policy.
How long do you keep my data?
We keep data only as long as needed for the purposes we describe. Indicative periods for account data, forest records, logs, and optional analytics are summarised under “How long we keep data” in the Privacy policy.
